The IIS University Journal of Science and Technology (JOST) welcomes the submission of papers presenting original research in the field of Science and Technology (including Biotechnology, Microbiology, Zoology, Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Home Science, Computer Science, Geography, and Psychology). Papers are peer-reviewed, in consultation with our Editorial Board. Scholars interested in publishing their work in JOST are urged to carefully read the detailed Instructions before submission.
Submission Guidelines
Manuscripts are invited in the following categories: Research Article, Short Communication, Review, Research News, Historical commentary/notes.
The manuscript should be typewritten (Times New Roman-12 font size), double-spaced, with one inch margins on all sides. The pages should be numbered consecutively throughout the paper. Illustrations and other materials to be reproduced from other publications must be properly credited.
Categories of Manuscripts
• Research Article (not exceeding 6000 words) - The paper should describe recent and confirmed findings. The paper should contain following sections (a) Abstract, (b) Key words (not more than 5, listed alphabetically), (c) Introduction, precise to introduce the subject with citations of relevant literature, (d) Material and Methods, (e) Results and Discussion, (f) Acknowledgements (if any), and (g) References.
• Short Communication (not exceeding 2000 words) containing important new findings that are novel and of fairly broad interest. They should include a brief abstract and an introductory paragraph. Body of the text will not have any title, like abstract, material and methods, results, and discussion except the acknowledgements and references.
• Review (not exceeding 8000 words) is expected to survey and discuss current developments in a field. They should be well focused and organized, and avoid a general ‘textbook’ style.
• General articles/Opinion (not exceeding 4000 words, 6 display items, tables and figures) discussing current trends in research in a field that would be of interest to readers outside the field. These include interdisciplinary topics, science policy and science administration, some aspects of the application of science and technology to human needs or the impact of science and technology on society/ecosystems/life. The articles should include an abstract, introductory paragraph, brief subheads at appropriate places, illustrations that will help a general reader, and references.
• Research News (not exceeding 2000 words and 3 display items) are intended to inform non-specialists about recently published advances or important findings.
• Historical commentary/notes (limited to about 3000 words) inform readers about interesting aspects of personalities or institutions of science or about watershed events in the history/development of science. Illustrations and photographs are welcomed. Brief items will also be considered.
References
References should be cited chronologically in the text by the author and date. Multiple references from the same year should be cited alphabetically. In the text, the names of two coauthors are linked by ´and´; for three or more, the first author’s name is followed by ´et al,´. The examples of citations are as follows:

Tables and Figures
Tables and figures should not be embedded in the text, but should be included as separate sheets. All tables must be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals in the order of appearance in the text. A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend, and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included. All figures should be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals in the order of appearance in the text.
Photographs/Figures should be in JPEG/TIFF format with high resolution and graph should be on separate excel sheet.

The journal is multidisciplinary, therefore research and review papers of general significance that are written clearly and well organized will be given preference. Authors are also advised to refer our Sample Manuscript to confirm that it follows the Journal’s convention for headings, tables, illustrations, style, references, and general form. Manuscripts submitted that do not adhere to the prescribed format will be rejected.
A covering letter must accompany the submission and should include the name, address, fax and telephone numbers, and email address of the corresponding author and co author(s)
After a manuscript has been accepted, PDF proofs will be made available to the authors in due course. It is the author’s responsibility to ensure that there are no errors in the proof.
Authors are required to submit a copyright form along with the manuscript.
